Michael at 2blowhards.com writes about cell phones. I agree with his point that cell phones are inferior to land lines when it comes to sound quality.
Even when I have all of my antenna bars, the cell phone will for no reason drop parts of a conversation. And when there’s only one or two antenna bars, then the quality really sucks.
In addition to the quality problem, the cell phone is just too small to comfortably talk on.

"cell phone"? Whaddat? You in prison or something? :-D
The only time I use one is when I am on holiday - there is no phone in the bach/dacha/holiday home/oh whatever...
Then it is my wife who uses it. Alexander Graeme Bell has a lot to answer for.

Hi Half Sigma
I think the cell phone is wonderful for shopping. It means my wife can go to shop for her clothes and I can take my son somewhere else.

back in the old days when we'd go shopping the family would meet at a central place in the mall every hour or so, but who has time to meet family that often these days.
