On July 4th I wrote that immigration and Islam were the two greatest threats to our freedom.
NY Times columnist Thomas Friedman seems to agree with me. He writes about the London bombings:
The attacks are also deeply disturbing because when jihadist bombers take their madness into the heart of our open societies, our societies are never again quite as open. Indeed, we all just lost a little freedom yesterday.
He is also on point with the following:
The Muslim village has been derelict in condemning the madness of jihadist attacks. When Salman Rushdie wrote a controversial novel involving the prophet Muhammad, he was sentenced to death by the leader of Iran. To this day - to this day - no major Muslim cleric or religious body has ever issued a fatwa condemning Osama bin Laden.
That's a misinterpretation, if I ever saw one. He wants Islam to reform itself, because he knows that the majority of Muslims are good human beings locked in an environment in which moderation suffers & extremism is exalted. He's been plugging the same line for the last three years now, and he's been right for the last three years, unlike you, who condemns more a sixth of the world's population for the acts of less than six.

Well, there's obviously more than 6 terrorist muslim extremists. And how exactly is the blogger misinterpreting Friedman's article?
Given your statements, I assume you support our efforts to reform and democratize the Middle East?
