Persian Rugs
If the United States places some sort of economic embargo on Iran, this probably means there will be no more Persian rugs for sale in the U.S. I urge my readers to visit this online rug store before it's too late.
There is nothing like a quality handmade imported Persian rug to add that special look to your home. I have one in my apartment and everytime I look at it I'm glad I don't have one of those cheap machine made rugs.
They assure the reader:
I’m sure many readers have far better ideas. I would love to hear them. Consider that posting them could be a form of public service: I presume that a lot more folks who oppose and fight terror read this blog than actual terrorists. So by getting these ideas out in the open, it gives terror fighters a chance to consider and plan for these scenarios before they occur.
But this is after they advocate roving teams of snipers in 20 major US cities. How is one of the "folks" fighting terrorism supposed to fight against that? The only thing I can think of is to deny entry to suspicious types in the first place, require extra documentation of identity and to conduct extra eavesdropping- all of which the Times opposes as unnecessary.
Security through obscurity may not be sufficient, but it is certainly helpful if we dont have our university professors brainstorming for the tent dwellers.
I would like to see HS fisk this latest Freak column, assuming Rupert approve of such as retaliation for Pinch's presumptions.
That's right, Roissy. You should take lessons next time he bitch-slaps that mouthy NY Times. Your problem with women is that you're just too nice a guy (eyeroll).
Now, David. Half is a bright, well-read guy who occasionally comes up with original insights. It's just too bad that his good qualities are often handicapped by his ... issues.

So I'm accused of being hot for Half because he's a bad boy. But we also know that Half was, until recently, a computer programmer. And didn't Roissy claim just the other day that a computer programmer was less likely to score than a serial killer?
If complaining about women on the Internet makes someone a bad boy, the barrier to entry is low enough for all you dorks to clear. So stop whining about women's high standards.
Yeah, you just act like you're run by Murdoch.

A lame attempt by the Times to stay relevant.
The fact is they still haven't closed the gap with the WSJ "Numbers Guy" column.
The only point of the NYT is if you want to willingly cocoon, or if you read it with ironic amusement.

The newly integrated NYT Freakanomics blog is having a brainstorming contest for people to suggest ways in which terrorists can cause the most mental damage on the US population.

Why is someone so eager to chase the one regular, self-identified female commenter off HS's blog?
