Maria Menounos' interview ran on NBC "Nightly News" last night. I loved it (she was also beyond sweet)! Also, check out her blogging about her experience meeting me and Sarah Huckabee. I love that she included my obsession with Dita Von Teese and Chloe Sevigney (one of my biggest dreams would be to raid their wardrobes).

It's actually pretty difficult to get one's hair that blond, even if you're blond. If you do it at home it looks like crap, so it does take some money if it looks good. The sleek 'do takes a lot of work as well.

Who makes $200K in Arizona? I certainly didn't. Partners at the few somewhat-large Arizona law firms probably make between 200K and 300K per year, 25% of what partners in Manhattan law firms make. None of the Arizona law firms would hire me, however, they only hire people with Top 14 degrees, not ASU Law degrees.

I'll confirm your observations. Most of the women that I see in Manhattan have a softer and darker shade of blonde. The brighter blonde is easier to find the suburbs (my community college is a prime example), but I'd imagine that it's commonplace in the Sunbelt.

The only school in NYC that you'll find hot women on a remotely similar level are Latina women at CUNY's John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

It usually requires completely stripping the hair of color via a strong bleach, then dying it. You can only get it a couple shades lighter with just a dye.

Gannon lives in South America. I've got a lot of Latin friends, and the standards for Caucasoid beauty are higher over there. I could actually believe a person who has travelled extensively throughout L. America might actually find Meghan to be unimpressive. No, no, no. It's just how highlights work. One good thing about highlights is that they don't leave a clear dye-line, so roots aren't as obvious and you can go longer between salon visits. Especially good if you're working and/or have kids. Salon visits take several hours; it's not like a man's haircut.

As I've said, I've personally referred to it as "Wellesley Queen" or "Career" blonde. It's fashionable blonde for career women. Madameoiselle McCain has what I call "California blonde" or "Porn blonde". Most of the young women featured in The Real Housewives of Orange County have this blonde look. While the "career blonde" is beautiful, it simply lacks the sexual attention that the California platinum blonde provides.

I was returning from New Jersey via the Lincoln Tunnel, and I drove along 10th Avenue on my way to dropping my brother off at Hunter (which is heavily female, and filled with Asian women), and we passed in front of the school. Nearly every girl in the area and in front of the school was Latina or Italian, and the vast majority were relatively attractive (to me).

BTW, that section of Manhattan is one of the sections that I have yet to explore in depth. I also haven't walked through Alphabet City and everything north of 96th Street with the exception of 125th Street.

Judging by her mother's appearance, she can stay hot for at least another twenty years. As for her looks in general, the easiest way for a woman to lose her beauty is with children, and for the vast majority of woman, additional children wear away whatever beauty was left. The aging process without children is gentle since the stress and exhaustion of raising children isn't eating away at childless women. As much as you argue that marrying a younger woman solves that problem, it really doesn't, and I will guarantee you that the so-called magical bond will go away once you find a twenty something woman willing to have sex with you forty years from now.

It depends on her personality and whether or not if she has memories of her youth in Bangladesh. I can prattle on about feeling like a nobody in the States, but that's because my mother grew up better than the average Haitian. I think some of my personal resentment is based on this theory that in Haiti, I would have been a somebody that people would be forced to respect, instead of somebody who's spat upon, but has his own car, room, and high speed internet connection. Socially, I feel like crap, but financially and in terms of possessions, I'm probably 1000x better off the in the US. Plus, in the US, there's a 10% chance that I could score a white woman, while in Haiti, there's a 0% chance of that ever happening...

If she has a good natured and accepting personality, and if the family treats her well, it's quite possible that she may feel thankful for her the fact that she was adopted and lives with an upper class family in the US instead of in an poor orphanage in the third world. Even with a mean spirit and resentment, I'd suspect that she'd still be content as a McCain. Mind you, I do feel sorry for her since she's East Asian, and from what the photos show, she's not as good looking as her sisters, so it's going to be very hard for her to find somebody who may like her. At least she'll have the connections to make the other aspects of her life fulfilling.

Good old David, I can always count on him to take the bait. ;) I don't think so. I think straight upper-class and entertainment women like to think they're being wild and offbeat and savvy to male sexuality by liking a somewhat erotic female performer. But, they don't want to be made to feel inferior by women substantially younger or more attractive. So, they glorify women whose appeal lies in persona and makeup and clothing rather than exceptional physical attractiveness. It's pretty easy to emulate the retro-punk Bettie Page look regardless of age or weight (anyone can dye her hair black and cut bangs and wear red lipstick). This helps them fantasize that they're men's sexual ideal.

Meghan McCain is not a punkette, but she's still a good example of a woman who's only moderately physically attractive but is slavishly aping a certain look. She's got an Ashley Simpson sense about her.
