this photo was recently posted on Flickr by someone. The governor does indeed look pretty pregnant.
The EXIF data on the photo says it was taken in March 2005, however the Fuji Finepix S9000 camera wasn't released until the fall of 2005, so I presume the person who owned the camera just didn't bother to set the date.
The photo doesn't prove that the Governor wasn't wearing a fake stomach. Nor does it explain the Bristol/mono story. Nor does it explain the mystery behind the governor getting onto an airplane after her water broke.

Supposedly from March.
Dude, you need to lay off this conspiracy theory stuff. It's even wackier than the people who were pimping the Obama birth certificate non-controversy.

Her water didn’t ‘break’ Half Sigma; there was a leak. Just a respectful suggestion to give it a break and have some beers. Governors do not wear ‘part-time’ fat suits.
But this story is going to out-victim the Obamas, which is good. Obama is an unpleasant victim. Palin is a charming victim. This makes Palin a stronger candidate.

HS - "The photo doesn't prove that the Governor wasn't wearing a fake stomach."
You forgot to mention that she's also wearing cheek extensions to give her that puffy-faced pregnant look.

You've said "This [that SP was not the mother] is a true story".
You've also claimed you are a 99.9 IQ type of guy.
Well, I'm blown away you would be this stupid, to actually think the story is true. You have some serious holes in your bean.

Right, and I'm still haven't seen any evidence that proves or disproves the theory that the guys from the Daily Kos eat the flesh of aborted babies, so I'm still keeping an open mind on that one as well.

Nobody knows if Bristol really missed 4 to 5 months of school, so someone should go to Facebook and send a message to everyone in her class that's listed and ask them is Bristol missed class.
Posted by: amir | September 01, 2008 at 12:28 AM
Actually, forget that last message. Leave those people alone.
Posted by: amir | September 01, 2008 at 12:32 AM
it looks like a fat suit to me.
it's just too hard to prove.

Mercy, that is hilarious.

she has to cover up her story by putting on some weaight and look pregenant.
It is interesting all these pictures are taken few weeks befor the baby is born...
give me a brake!

I think HS secretly likes Palin and is exploiting the Palin/secret baby conspiracy in order to draw in unsuspecting detractors, allowing his wholly rational commenters to do the dirty work of busting these myths.
Brilliant job, HS

Someone writing as "former law student" posted this over at Althouse:
"Why would a woman trying to conceal her daughter's pregnancy lie about having amniotic fluid leakage, raising the whole line of questioning about (a) not going to a Houston emergency room right away, and (b) bypassing Anchorage hospitals for her own home hospital and obgyn? Bottom line: Mrs. Palin's story about her flight home cuts in favor of her being pregnant, because it raises questions."
http://althouse.blogspot.com/2008/08/stop-prying-into-other-peoples-vaginas.html
Can you think of any advantage Palin derived from lying about her water breaking in Texas? I can't. If she was faking the pregnancy, why wouldn't she just have flown home for her daughter's delivery without inventing the "early contractions" story.
Posted by: | September 01, 2008 at 02:20 AM
It is not uncommon that for the good name of a family that a grandmother poses as the mother of a grandchild to avoid scandal.I have no idea if the story is true or not,in any case that event took place at a time Palin had no inkling she would be chosen as a futur V.P with a great potential, due to McCain's age to become C.in.C Proper vetting should have occured ,but McCain surprised every one before such vetting took place McCain is at fault here.He believes he is immortal or at least thinks he made a pact with his God to last 5 years, His God has now given his answer; Katrina ll.So far I considered myself a non believer,I'm beginning to have doubts

HS,
Are you going to make a full apology for being a total asshat when all is said done? You lost all credibility with this BS.
Are you really so stupid as to suppose that Sarah Palin is so powerful that medical records, birth certificates can be altered and the eyewitness of dozens upon dozens of people be coerced to secrecy all to hide the pregnancy of her daughter? Because we all know how large groups of people are at keeping secrets and not selling them to National Inquirer for some pin money.
Apparently, you are that stupid. Effing moron.

HS, this flap reminds me of your tirades over Ron Paul's purported anti-Semitism. I'd have thought law school would have taught you to think a little more logically and analytically. I'll chalk it up to the fact that you attended a third-tier school.

DiverCity:
"HS, this flap reminds me of your tirades over Ron Paul's purported anti-Semitism. "
That's exactly what I was thinking. HS, you need to get back on your meds.

Dude,
You did lose a bit of credibility.
I just hope that Obama takes the bait as well.

This explains why you can't seem to make it in the legal field. It's not because you didn't go to an Ivy League school. It's because you look at the world and see it as you would like it to be rather than the way it is. Instead of Half Sigma, you should go by Half Smegma (for brains).

Okay, I've been reading for a while and thought this was an interesting blog with a few wacky ideas (female bloggers must be male because they like sci-fi, etc), but this is totally insane.
Seriously dude, you are unhinged.

"The photo doesn't prove that the Governor wasn't wearing a fake stomach."
Dude, that's freaking ridiculous. If she was smart enough to anticipate that photos of her would be scrutinized, then why wouldn't she wear a fat suit every freaking day?
Besides, like someone else said, her face has that puffy rosy look which is so common among pregnant women. Politely referred to as a "glow."
Also, that the first picture of her where she isn't surrounded by loose clothing. I think it's about time to put this rumor to bed.
Posted by: dreamin | September 01, 2008 at 06:15 AM
P.S. One way to know a conspiracy theory has gone overboard is to ask if the conspirators are showing a blend of consummate cunning and stunning stupidity.
Posted by: dreamin | September 01, 2008 at 06:18 AM
HS needs to think more like a lawyer and less like Art Bell. For example.
1. Do you really think a hospital would commit fraud by faking a birth certificate. Do you think they could keep it quiet.
2. Do you think that a physician, a hospital, an anesthesiologist, and other independent care providers would commit insurance fraud by putting Sarah Palins name on insurance claims for her daughers birth?
3. Do you really think that a hospital could really keep it quiet?
4. Do you really think that the media in Alaska would have gone along with it?

That also shows that she's pregnant. Face it, she was pregnant with Trig. Look at her chin too. No way to fake that with a fat suit...

"Nor does it explain the Bristol/mono story."
This claim was never substantiated, so it doesn't need to be "explained".
"Nor does it explain the mystery behind the governor getting onto an airplane after her water broke."
This is reasonably explained in the Anchorage Daily News article, which interviews Palin and her doctor.
Some amniotic fluid _leaked_, and she was not yet going into labor. The doctor agreed that it was reasonable decision for her to return:
"Palin kept in close contact with [doctor] Baldwin-Johnson. The contractions slowed to one or two an hour, "which is not active labor," the doctor said...
"I don't think it was unreasonable for her to continue to travel back," Baldwin-Johnson said... After four kids, the governor said, she knew what labor felt like, and she wasn't in labor."
Which was correct, the doctor said she had to induce labor.

While Sarah Palin's total lack of visible pregnancy is both disturbing and curious, it in no way supports the complicated rumor that it is Bristol Palin's child.

Now, if someone could post a photo of Palin at the supermarket buying pickles and ice cream, the issue would be settled for once and for all.

Can't you all see what this who Palin baby fest is? Half Sigma isn't nuts, he is just using this whole thing to boost his traffic and have people leave a tons of comments as they speculate over this.
Posted by: Over Under | September 01, 2008 at 10:50 AM
Thank goodness for Half Sigma---for showing the truth in pictures which they can't deny--Sarah PROUD AND PREGNANT! All the other liberal blogs are too busy smearing their BS about the Palin family. SHAME ON YOU--so typical of DEMS to do resort to these tactics when they smell defeat!

So, explain to me this. If this new photo is real, then how does she go from flat stomach, to full on preggers in a month? Would she not have shown some of this weight prior to a month before giving birth? It makes no sense, this pregnant photo actually makes their story worse, NOT better, but only because we can date other photos of her a month prior where she is slim as a slim-jim.
Posted by: areyoublind? | September 02, 2008 at 12:39 AM
I think this is an important issue. When someone is deceiving and a liar AND a VP potential - people should know!
Trig was born April 18, 2008.
Sarah showed no signs of being pregnant until after she announced that she was seven months pregnant. And she was instantly slim, and back at work one day after delivering a DS, premie baby?
Bristol had "mono" during this period. How convenient.
Bristol is not pregnant now. She just had a baby a couple of months ago (Trig), so she is breast feeding and still has the baby-fat from just giving birth. This "pregnant now" is just so we won't question her physical appearance - and it squashes the previous claims that she is Trig's mother (time-line wise).
Rest assured that an unfortunate miscarriage will happen - Because she is not pregnant and no baby will surface (unless they adopt). AND, I predict that Sarah will then step down because "the pressure and media slander has resulted in a loss of a child... I must now step down from the nomination and focus on my family...."
Plus - the whole: water-broke/leaked, gave speech anyway - flew 10+ hours to Alaska - no one on the plane knew she was pregnant- story is insane.
People Please!

I have four children. My third one has down syndrome. I gained alot of weight with each of my healthy children but I had trouble gaining weight with my son who has down syndrome. He was smaller than the others. I finally did gain some weight with him but not until the end of my pregancy. Newborns with down syndrome are smaller at birth. Just my two cents.

Apparently everyone on this page has missed the point. Trig was born in March of 2008. The photo by Half Sigma is from 2005 and shows Palin as she looks when actually pregnant. However the photos of Palin this year on super tuesday in Alaska showed her looking quite slim and not pregnant, yet she had to have been 7 months along. Therefore it pretty much shows that Sarah Palin was not pregnant this year if she normally looks that huge when actually pregnant. This is how she looked on super tuesday this year when she supposedly was 7 months pregnant:

Amazing that people believe this story that Bristol is now pregnant. Just one further lie to end all questions. Rest assured they will later announce that she has "miscarried" and probably blame the fact on the "rumor mongerers." How gullible people are. These Palins must be laughing at your gullibility.
Posted by: frank burns | September 04, 2008 at 09:42 AM
Bristol totally looks like someone that has just had a baby not someone that is pregnant. i have been saying this for days. So now i find others that are very observant. wow cool.
Posted by: lorraine | September 04, 2008 at 01:39 PM
I too believe something is very fishy. Lost in all the hoopla and optical diversions (beautiful family, wonderful unemployed redneck impregnator who doesn't want kids, etc.) is the motive for this fish-like odor wafting through cyberspace - insurance fraud.
A compelling circumstantial case for an official investigation has already been presented for such a felony. Add up all the details. Now who isn't doing their job and following up? Is Sarah Palin as good at committing a crime as she is adept at bashing a distinguished scholar, author and U.S. Senator in front of highly partisan kool-aid drinkers? Can her cunning in evading the law match her preposterous act at the convention? We'll see. Somewhere there is evidence - provable evidence - that can clear this up one way or another...meanwhile an existing investigation of Sarah Palin is being thwarted by lawyers from the McCain campaign, to run out the clock before election. Are you comfortable electing a possible felon before her skeletons are fully liberated? Think about it - and the tortured mind and decrepit body of the man she would succeed upon his death.

I have really been looking at the video from when the Palin family was on stage. Now I've seen plenty of pregnant young girls in my lifetime (no, I wasn't the one that has impregnated any of them) and she really doesn't look pregnant to me. In fact, she looks like she is wearing a fat suit to me. Her body frame in that dress just doesn't look natural at all. But that's just my opinion.
