The CNN Political Ticker blog reports that there are still no Palin medical records:
From CNN Political Producer Peter HambyLAKEWOOD, Ohio (CNN) – With less than 24 hours to go before the presidential election, Sarah Palin still has not released her medical records and there is no indication the campaign is planning to do so.
Two weeks ago, Palin’s campaign told several reporters traveling with the campaign that a summary of the governor’s medical history would be made public before election day.
Reporters were told that details on Palin’s medical background would be released early last week. Last Thursday, after that timeframe had passed, a campaign aide backed off the previous pledge, saying the campaign wasn’t sure when the information would be released.
John McCain, Barack Obama and Joseph Biden have all provided details about their medical history.
What is she hiding?

I will say again that, as a general rule, I'd rather see candidates' SAT scores than their medical records. But I would also really like to find out what Palin is hiding.
HS:
How did you perform on the SAT?

So, are you retracting your claim that a newspaper was sitting on a damaging story?
Posted by: anonymous_coward | November 03, 2008 at 06:01 PM
I never claimed anything. I did link to a blog post claiming such a thing, and wrote that there's no way of knowing if it's a true story or just a liberal blogger being dishonest.
I do believe that Palin is hiding something.

She's 44. We know she moved around a bit when she was younger and putting herself through college.
Do you even know the name and phone number of your physician from twenty-five years ago?
I agree with you that asking for medical records is stupid. Any of the candidates is far more likely to die in a car accident in the next month than they are to die of some other ailment over the next four years.
The SAT score, however, would also be a foolish statistic on which to base your vote, as no President has ever had to deal with a crisis in which two trains are traveling toward each other at fifty miles an hour. According to the SAT metric, Richard Nixon by many accounts would have been the best President of the 20th century. But the SAT score has a redeeming factor, it is true; it consists of 2 numbers, which one is provided in a report after taking the exam.
"Medical Records", on the other hand: I googled "medical records"; here is one of the top hits on how to collect your medical records: http://www.genetichealth.com/Resources_Collecting_Medical_Records.shtml
It's not a small article.
I believe you're acting like a moron who doesn't have the first clue as to what you're talking about. Pretty much the only people who have their complete medical records on hand are (i) the chronicly/deathly ill, and (ii) careerist national politicians who have had plenty of time to hope for their chance as POTUS, e.g., Joe Biden.
Perhaps that's why Obama never released his medical records, but instead released a "summary" that said, essentially, "he's healthy".
I still love the blog, though. Now please stop being an idiot and go back to the usual intelligent posting.

Still an non-issue. There isnt one person who is basing their vote on the vice presidents medical records.
Maybe it would sway Nancy Pelosi's vote but that is it.

hermaphrodite?
seriously, though, if trig is bristol's baby as you seem to be implying, what motive would sarah have for concealing that fact under the difficult rubric of faking a 9 month pregnancy? bristol is pregnant as is. would a 2nd teen pregnancy have tarnished palin's family in the eyes of blue staters in a way a single teen pregnancy could not?

Other than something like "Hysterectomy in 2002" what could she be hiding? I really don't think there's anything here HS.

Totally OT, but HS, you need to know this.
Obama's authorship of his books can now be reasonably doubted. Ayers seems to be a likely ghostwriter.

I've long thought you've overrated Obama's intelligence, but now the data points can actually come in and start building a case. The man is a colossal fraud.

I don't blame Palin at this point. McCain-Palin are going to lose, so why should she bother putting her personal medical history out there?

Though I'm now convinced she's definitely hiding something (the story hasn't just disappeared like I expected), I don't care as long she's banished back to Alaska after tomorrow. Maybe she'll create a commune for herself and the bible thumping nut jobs in the Bush administration.
Let this be lesson to Repubs - get some people who can compete with the likes of the Clintons and Obamas intellectually. Think Nixon smarts, but with more ethics (queue Clinton jokes).

Obviously Palin was concealing Trig's ... mild jaundice? Horrors!
HS, I enjoy the blog, but your weird obsession with this most inconsequential of controversies does tend to put the lie to your fetishization of IQ as a marker of good judgement.

Palin released what Obama did -- a one page summary of her medical records. Today.

I think my SAT scores were 730 math and 580 verbal, but I'm not 100% sure.
Half, how 'bout it?
Posted by: The Griffyn | November 04, 2008 at 01:17 AM
Maybe she had an STD, or some other weird medical condition
Posted by: SAT | November 04, 2008 at 05:06 AM
I don't know about STDs, but one possibility that occurred to me is that she's on some medication that would cause her some embarassment like anti-depressants. Or maybe she was on birth control but failed to take it properly when she got pregnant, which would fuel the flames of the theorists (who would believe the part of the health report that says that she was in The Pill, but not the part that she was pregnant) and also raise more ruckus about how she endagered the life of the baby. I really don't know.
In any event, if Bristol's baby is born on time, that'll pretty much be the clincher. Of course, then the theory will just change to something else that doesn't happen to be impossible.
