I think you've made your point that the family is prole. The people you need to reach are those in the Republican party establishment who continue to bruit Sarah Palin as a desirable/likely GOP presidential candidate/nominee in 2012. Unfortunately it seems they don't read your blog.

What you need in Alaska is a strong back, good character, and a willingness to work hard over an extended period of time.

If you have these traits, a high school degree is really of little use. You can and will earn good money if you focus on the job at hand and use your street smarts to advance.

If you are unwilling to work hard and are unwilling to stay focused you are not going to make real money no matter what degree you have.

Too many "book smart" people don't really know how the world works. Try working for a few weeks at McDonalds and then work a few weeks on an offshore oil rig. Many of the oil rig workers have the same educational credentials and the same grades as the McDonalds workers. The difference is in how hard they work, how consistent they work, how reliable they are, their character.

Plenty of high school dropouts can get good paying jobs in Alaska and keep them and move up the ladder. It just so happens that most people with good work ethic and good character don't drop out of high school.

Wow, the radio station guy got a 18yo father fired. Talk about your politics of personal destruction.

Things I enjoy about this blog:

>Outside-the-box*** thinking

>Generally, very strong logical and consistent argumentation

>Political incorrectness

>Does not appear to censor comments that disagree with HS's POV

Things I loathe about this blog:

>Weird fascination with all things Palin, especially when nothing else to blog about

***Ironically, it is very not outside-the-box for me to use that exact phrase.

Not getting a high school diploma sounds more like a sign of laziness, drug use, and stupidity than savvy entrepreneurial skills.

Patrik – “Weird fascination with all things Palin, especially when nothing else to blog about”

Nothing else to blog about?

Or nothing that HS believes will bring visits?

Funny, it seems to me that he’s finally getting less response to his endless “Palin” posts.

What might spark some real discussion?

Since HS see's Palin as "sooo dumb", perhaps a discussion on so-called "Smart Pills" would be in order:

Popping Smart Pills: the Case for Cognitive Enhancement http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1869435,00.html?xid=rss-topstories

Or, perhaps, the hypocrisy of Obama, who now talks of lowering taxes, rather than raising them as per his campaign promises:

Raiding the Lockbox: The hypocrisy of Obama’s tax “cuts” http://hotair.com/archives/2009/01/06/raiding-the-lockbox-the-hypocrisy-of-obamas-tax-cuts/

Or, given the fascination with the alpha-beta male differentiation, and it's attendant effects on women, here's a bit of an odd one to try to work into the mix:

Love skews your sense of smell http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn16362-love-skews-your-sense-of-smell.html

Or, for fun, how about Palin’s direct rival, Joe Biden, being unrecognized, getting turned down for a movie.

And, why has HS been absent on any of the Senatorial controversies of Burris, Kennedy, or Franken?

So much no-Palin stuff going on in the world: but, does HS care?

Dang, I knew I’d forgotten something.

I was also going to add more fodder/bait in the hopes of luring HS out of his “Palin” rut:

How about Jimmy Carter’s crappy Habitat For Humanity houses?

How about 2 of Above the Law’s top three Law Students of the Year being at Arizona schools? http://abovethelaw.com/2008/12/top_law_school_stories_2008_1.php

And, one last topic I’ll try – perhaps it will bring a ray of hope for beta-males http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,475127,00.html

***Many of the oil rig workers have the same educational credentials and the same grades as the McDonalds workers. The difference is in how hard they work, how consistent they work, how reliable they are, their character.***

And probably their intelligence. I find it difficult to believe that the average burger flipper is as smart as someone who operates expensive and hideously dangerous heavy machinery.

Low grades can also mean boredom, you know.

"Many of the oil rig workers have the same educational credentials and the same grades as the McDonalds workers. The difference is in how hard they work, how consistent they work, how reliable they are, their character".

Correction. The difference is that oil work is a heavily unionized job, like construction or truck driving. If unions never existed, they would have been paid peanuts. Lots of blue-collar kinds of jobs that pay well in the US pays pittance in other places for the same work.

slwerner,
Some more fun stuff:

Harry Reid:

SWPLers in SFO don't like blacks living too close:

The fun never ends with liberals. Ever.

Bruno,

Long haul trucking has never been unionized. Union teamster jobs were driving local delivery trucks or driving the cement delivery truck. Also, the long haul trucking probably pays better and you can live where you want.

Construction is large portions such as the Sunbelt is not unionized.

And yes, HS needs to give up on Palin who will be an answer a trivia quesiton in a couple of years. I guess it beat writing about the private elite prep schools where all of the Democratic leadership are sending their kids to.

Slwerner, the article says women will be having more sex because of economic empowerment. Translation: Women will be having more sex with alpha males as their need for betas goes down. So the article is actually more bad news for betas.

"You guys are watching him so tightly," Johnston said, referring to the media. "He's being treated different than an average 18-year-old kid. He has to do everything by the book now."

The radio DJ said he is just doing his job. I hope he'll take notice of all the farm workers and others who are here illegally.

All in all, being in the spotlight is forcing Johnston to be a better man.

"btw, I'll stop writing about the Palins when they stop giving me stuff to write about. "

Yeah, I dont think so. I am still waiting for you to put together a plausible timeline for Bristol being the mother of both those kids.

Since you cant do it, and Sara faking the baby for some third person is beyond stupid, I think you owe an apology to your readers.

"The fun never ends with liberals. Ever."

Did anyone ever say that if you just give people money, they'll become better people? As a classical liberal (Labor Democrat), I don't disagree with you on that. We disagree with you that people are the way they are entirely (or even mostly) because of genetics.

It's called conditioning. You weren't born special and superior. You were taught to be the way you are.

"Long haul trucking has never been unionized. Union teamster jobs were driving local delivery trucks or driving the cement delivery truck. Also, the long haul trucking probably pays better and you can live where you want.
Construction is large portions such as the Sunbelt is not unionized".

And why the heck these same jobs pay so little anywhere outside the USA?

"It's called conditioning. You weren't born special and superior. You were taught to be the way you are."

Best news I've heard all day! Now someone can teach me to be awesome at B'ball so I can play in the NBA! Maybe you could also teach the local NAM dregs to be chemical engineers...let me know how it works out. Me? I'm headed to The Garden!

"Many of the oil rig workers have the same educational credentials and the same grades as the McDonalds workers. The difference is in how hard they work, how consistent they work, how reliable they are, their character"

Workers in McDonalds in Europe are well paid.
