A commenter sent me a link to a Korean Benneton Green Ride website. In Korea, women apparently carry tote bags and wear T-shirts which read "Green Is My Religion."

I participate in a philosophy club at my United States Engineering College and the issue of God and the environment once came up. 100% of the members identified as atheists and about 50% identified as Gainists. It probably doesn't mean anything because philosophers are usually ignored by mainstream society, but I'd imagine that their opinions are influential among the liberal arts educated upper class.
If you want to get a closer look at the Gainist religion you should look up "Deep Ecology", which is the philosophy that the environment has an intrinsic value that goes beyond its utility to humans.
