Looks like the biggest December snowstorm of my lifetime (based on the 18Z NAM). Global warming, not happening.

"Global warming, not happening."
The opposite in fact. The sun is quiet in terms of sunspots and magnetic activity. That will decide our climate, not our silly, minuscule CO2 emissions.
It won't stop the politicians in their mad dash for power and "social environmental justice" of course.

Actually this is a sign global warming is happening, all of the Arctic ice shelf is melting... and then reforming this weekend somewhere between Dupont and Adams Morgan. Can't wait, snow apocalypse FTW, take that Bob Ryan.

Hey, weather is not climate! Except when weather seems to support AGW theory, in which case it's irrefutable proof of AGW.
Get with it.

"(based on the 18Z NAM)"
Good God! Those NAMs are now causing winter storms, in addition to their usual hooliganism and rapscallion behaviour?
"Looks like the biggest December snowstorm of my lifetime"
You weren't in New York for the "Blizzard of 1996"?
I remember that one, I actually walked to work, and was 1 of 2-3 people that made it in that day.
[HS: Dude, that storm was in JANUARY, not December.]

Wow, Drudge-level idiocy, now?
I would assume facetiousness, but your treatment of this issue is an increasing embarrassment to your presumed intellect.

Long live Climate Change!!!
December 18, 2009 at 05:43 PM
LOL. Wow, we're having a heat wave. GLOBAL WARMING!!!!
OMG! It's a blizzard. Cancel global warming!!!
It's one fucking storm. It says absolutely nothing about the climate.
December 18, 2009 at 05:53 PM
The climate change hoax is useful by letting us know who is a fool and who is not.

Why would a rational person believe that humans can affect the climate on earth to any worthwhile extent? We have not yet deployed enough technology to be able to do that.

No global warming?! Mark my words, you'll end up cowering in the New York Public Library with Jake Gylenhaal, burning books to keep warm.

Stupid comment. The presence of a single snowstorm is not evidence against something that is statistical and based on long-term trends.

Time to pay homage to this prophetic novel.

also, I don't know if you guys have noticed but each day there's less and less daylight. It's now dark at 4:50. Less sunlight = lower temperatures. Global warming, not happening.

"The presence of a single snowstorm is not evidence against something that is statistical and based on long-term trends. "
It seems like many (but not all) warmists are all too happy to scream "Aha! Global Warming!" whenever there is a warm spell; or a big hurricane; or an early tornado; or a collapsing ice shelf.
Logically, if those events are evidence in favor of global warming, then blizzards and cold snaps are evidence against global warming.
That said, I agree that one storm doesn't have much meaning in the scheme of things. I just wish the warmists could understand this when they file lawsuits against oil companies over Hurricane Katrina.

Come on, HS. Don't stoop to this level of idiocy. You've reached the level of creationists saying "how come monkeys don't turn into men down at the zoo!"
Stupid snark like your blizzard comment is why intelligent people shun conservatives.

Also, on a side note, I'll believe "monster blizzard" when I see it - the media hypes every storm to death these days and it always ends in an anti-climax. I bet 7" in NYC max.

Global warming advocates predicted there will be no more cold days. Every time there is a day of cold weather it disproves everything they say. Plus if we actually had no cold weather at all it would be good. Everyplace would be like Florida. We should all get out and drive more.
I'm trying to come up with a comment more stupid than the original post, but its hard.

"Looks like the biggest December snowstorm of my lifetime (based on the 18Z NAM). Global warming, not happening."
It doesn't really tell us anything in and of itself, but it does remind us of Global Warming's epic case shift: Global Warming => Climate Change. Couldn't anyone with half a brain realize that they were "moving the goalposts during the game".
December 19, 2009 at 02:06 PM
Hey HS, it's 55 degrees and sunny out here. Enjoy your blizzard. Wouldn't it suck if the power went out?

Correct...unless you mean Global Warming, which is neither.

Five feet eight inches of snow in one day in Alaska, a record there. http://www.alaskadispatch.com/dispatches/news/3334-valdez-socked-in
There got 4 inches in ONE HOUR.
The article stated that Alaska was where the effects of global warming were supposed to be the most pronounced. They are pronounced all right.........
Im disgusted leftists (would-be totalitarians over every small matter in our lives), so in the spirit of that contempt, Im -hoping-for a record cold and snowy winter, even if I have to pay double for food all next year. I want to see the weather make a public laughinstock out of Al Gore.

"Why would a rational person believe that humans can affect the climate on earth to any worthwhile extent?" Thousands of years of clearing forest and draining swamp might, I suppose. Whether it would really be discernible against the background variation, Lord knows. No point asking the Climate Scientologists, though - dim, lying zealots.

-Also, on a side note, I'll believe "monster blizzard" when I see it - the media hypes every storm to death these days and it always ends in an anti-climax. I bet 7" in NYC max.-
"Around New York City, the brunt of the storm hit Long Island, with whiteout conditions. Nearly 25 inches were recorded in Upton by Sunday. Nearly 11 inches of snow fell on New York City by Sunday morning, and the storm could be the worst the city has seen since about 26 inches fell in Central Park in February 2006, National Weather Service meteorologist Patrick Maloit said."
How much fell in DC? You remember who lives in DC and believes in AGW, right? Moron.
