This picture was taken at the south eastern area of Prospect Park. Just outside the park is the ghetto. It looks like some of the ghetto residents have wandered into the park and are gathered together in some sort of huddle.
Normally, I feel that there’s no artistry in taking pictures with a telephoto lens, but I didn’t think it would be a good idea for a nerdy white guy like myself to walk up to these guys in order to get a more intimate photo.
I must point out that this is not the typical crowd that hangs out in Prospect Park. I estimate that only 15% of the people you see in Prospect Park are black, and of the 15%, one third are Oreos and another third are immigrant blacks from the Caribbean and Africa.
If you're going to take photos of ghetto blacks you need to rethink your position on recreational running, telephoto lens or not. No one can run fast or far without practice.

African blacks may be relatively easy to distinguish, but Caribbean blacks and Oreos are not. So how do you know?

I must say, your East Coast ghetto-dwellers are very well-dressed compared to the West Coast. Not a sagger in sight. Their hair is close-cropped, and their shirts have collars.
Hey, by "ghetto," do you mean underclass? That's how I took it, but perhaps back there it means something different? Perhaps you have more middle-class black neighborhoods?

And everyone in this clean-cut group just happens to be male. Come on, HS, they didn't just "wander" in! This is some designated group gathering, maybe a men's after-church thing.

Dude, half sigma, you seriously have an obsession with us black folks. Honestly now? Sneaking behind a group of black hobos to snap some pictures? You seem like a sad, pathetic little man. I used to think of you as somewhat intelligent, but upon further reading I discovered that you are nothing but an insignificant little twit who graduated from a TTT law school (and only lawyers will know what that means).

**I feel that there’s no artistry in taking pictures with a telephoto lens**
I think that's a bit of snobbery and elitism in attempt to scare off any competition from budding amateurs. I see nothing wrong with using whatever tool that's needed to accomplish a finished photo.
**one third are Oreos and another third are immigrant blacks from the Caribbean and Africa**
Well, Prospect Park borders on one of the largest concentrations of Caribbean immigrants in the United States, so it's expected that one would find some of them using the park for recreation.

BTW, as a quick immigration note, in the New York area, a number of black oriented hair salons are staffed by Dominican immigrants. They tend to do a relatively decent job, and they seem to charge less for their services than hair salons staffed by native born women or black immigrants...

It looks like one of the brothers has spotted you, probably thinks it homeland or cia.
TTT = third tier toilet? Those law bloggers crack me up; i thought about going to law school just for the jokes

That south-eastern corner of Prospect Park is a great spot for Caribbean culture in NYC. If you go there on any Saturday afternoon in summer, you'll find 100s of people out there grilling, picnicking, playing ball etc. There's also a drumming circle frequently there. The circle was built by the park, and even had an official sign, but they've been doing a lot of work to that area, and I'm not sure it's actually there right now.

They were probably just debating the role of Aristotelean ethics in today's managerial state.
Nice picture though.

Yo sigma, there's a new Charles Murray column in the Washington Post regarding cognitive stratification. heads up G.

This posting of yours sounds like something out of National Geographic or Natural History: "Warthogs in the Forest," or something of that ilk.
Have you ever actually, you know, *spoken* to a black or brown person?

You're like the frikin' Jewish David Livingstone.
Why don't you ever write about your Dating life? You're obviously single, so hopefully you're looking for that special someone. In fact, have you considered starting a HBD dating site? It would be a great place for people with high IQ but low facial symmetry to hookup

You are going a little off the deep end here. I walk my dogs EVERY single day in Prospect Park. Not in the white areas, either. (I am a middle-aged white woman.)
I uniformly find the blacks in the park to be friendly, decent people. Some are dog walkers, some are runners, some are bike riders, some are barbequers--over time I have gotten friendly w/ the ones whose paths I frequently cross. They are nice decent friendly people!
The group you have photographed do look more like a church men's club than a bunch of ghetto wilders. I can't stand liberals who romanticize blacks, but I also think you are looking for trouble here, where it doesn't exist.

"In fact, have you considered starting a HBD dating site?"
It would be the world's biggest sausage party this side of the Warsaw Kielbasa Festival.

Don't let some of the fuckstains here wail about the telephoto lens usage. This is a good first step for understanding your enemy. Trust me, before long, you'll be observing these 'boos through something involved with MOA. And always remember, distance is your friend.

Looks like they're watching a chess game.
meanwhile, shark jumped-or are you letting some retarded cousin post while you're away?

I would be curious to know on what day this picture was taken. If this were a Saturday or Sunday then they might just be a group of friends socializing without their wives and picnic baskets. If the picture is on a weekday then they might well be shiftless ne'er do wells looking for anything to do other than work. They don't look dressed for success or physically handicapped. In that case I would steer clear. Most people I know that are gainfully employed and have families do not have time to congregate in packs during working hours.
[HS: It was on Sunday. It could have been an after-church activity. Who knows?]
