I'd like to see a large colony of Section 8 housing on the island. Let's give those nabobs a taste of the pain they've inflicted on the rest of us.

The entire U.S. immigration system needs to be scrapped and re-implemented from the ground up. To start:

1) eliminate green card lottery
2) eliminate any program that allows for the easy importation of unskilled labor
3) buy illegal immigrants one-way airfare to their country of citizenship and throw in some spending money to get them started (even that will be way cheaper than anything we're doing now)
4) make English the national language
5) re-deploy Army from Afghanistan & Iraq to the Mexican border

God, I sound like some crazy right winger.

It's like a microcosm of America's immigration problem.

Quote:
"Jamaicans have now replaced in good part the reliable low-level labor that all businesses needed. The American labor force wasn't cutting it. We needed the work ethic of doing it, not complaining about it and wanting more afterward," Mr. Yankow said."

Sounds like what he really means is that Jamaicans are cheaper.

"We live and breathe in a seasonal arena. It's up to the businesses to adjust or not adjust. The H2B program made it possible for us to survive. We're hoping and praying the program survives along with us," Mr. Morris said."

You see, bringing in immigrants is a matter of life and death.

HS, one of the things that you mention is the replacement of Americans with foreign workers. I agree that that's part of the issue, however a even larger part of the issue is illegal foreign workers. I'm not too familiar with the situation on Nantucket, but illegal aliens have contributed significantly to the destruction of the white working and middle classes. I read an article one time about what removing illegals would have on the economy in one local area. It said that it would devastate agricultural and service industry businesses. I disagree. Removing the illegals would require the businesses hire legal workers at decent wages. That would lead to increased tax revenue and stimulate the economy when the new legal workers spend their money.

[HS: As far as I can tell, all of the workers in Nantucket are legal. Nantucket has a lot of barriers to illegals just moving there and taking up permanent (but illegal) residence.]

Note that the suspect is a contractor rather than a hired laborer. Chances are very good that no one "imported" him to Nantucket, more likely he went there on his own accord because that's where work is to found.

[HS: I take the quote to mean that he works for a contracting company as a temporary migrant worker and not that he's an independent small businessman. You need to read between the lines.]

Ever hear of the Pioneer Fund? Apparently, the upper classes have known about HBD for some time, and even certain aspects of their culture revolve around it! For instance, debutante balls are meant to shelter upper class girls and introduce them to eligible upper class men and protect them from love's democratic nature (i.e., to prevent them from marrying an unstable alpha and drastically losing social prominence, because a woman's status is related to the man she is with).

Likewise, sending their children to elite boarding schools (which also have a few token students from underprivileged backgrounds, but they earned their spots)serves a similar insulation and indoctrination purpose.

Additionally, keeping track of pedigrees is a way of tracking where certain traits come from. The term "good family" and "breeding" is related to this, because it is believed that one's traits are inheritable and genetic. Certain new money people are willing to spend money to adopt upper-class traits, but the problem is that the upper-class have inherited their traits and they cannot simply be bought off and taught by a coach.

If HBD didn't exists, then why the need to segregate? Knowing that traits are inheritable, it is surprising why a ghetto was allowed near ACK.

I imagine that Nantucket will explore the cost of ferrying their workers back to the mainland every night as a first potential option if this problem persists.

Its kind of a shame the northeast is geographically located where it is. If it were nearer the border, the profound amount of Senators the Northeast gets to send to Congress each session might have a different outlook on demographic issues (Does it really compute that Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Delaware, Conneticut, and Rhode Island get to send 12 out of 50 senators to congress when you look at a map and consider just how small their populations are?) They will be the last to see the new vibrant America their elected leaders have generally been for.
I wish many of their citizens could see L.A. for instance as it is now and consider that is the future their grandchildren will have whether they wanted it or not.

"(Does it really compute that Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Delaware, Conneticut, and Rhode Island get to send 12 out of 50 senators to congress when you look at a map and consider just how small their populations are?)"

You meant 12 out of 100 - each state gets 2 senators, irregardless of population.

I know what you intended to say, I'm not trying to be an internet pedant! All your other points are on the mark!

"make English the national language"

Because you'd prefer to have Jamaican and Nigerian immigrants rather than Chinese?

"Does it really compute that Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Delaware, Conneticut, and Rhode Island get to send 12 out of 50 senators to congress when you look at a map and consider just how small their populations are?"

It makes a lot more sense than Utah, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and the Dakotas getting 12 senators. (14M in NE vs. 7M in those 6 states). You don't want to go down this road in any case - true proportionality would just give more political power to NAMs in California and NY (maybe somewhat offset by Texas and Florida being underrepresented). In reality the system is theoretically tilted in favor of "the white vote" right now (all those tiny heavily white majority states with 2 senators), and it doesn't seem to be helping any.

Hey, if the trade off for cheap labor and diversity is ONLY the raping of some rich White women, then the scales are balanced...

Remember, nothing is more important than diversity, and it's our moral imperative to import blue-collared uneducated workers; some of them are only rapists because they have adjusted to American culture yet. We have to give them time to assimilate!

What would happen if the cheap labor pool were to dry up? One of three things:

1. Automation.

2. The wage for the job would rise to a level that would make it acceptable to an American.

3. Or if neither of the first two happened, the job would just go undone. And if that's what happens, how important was the job in the first place?

@ Jay M
You mentioned institutions of yesterday meant to keep society segregated like debutante balls and boarding schools. This was meant to keep the upper with upper and the lower with the lower.

Oddly enough the tradition continues to exist even to this day. For example Bill Clinton is often jokingly referred to as America's first black president because he preached diversity and surrounded himself around blacks like no other politician has or ever will. However I doubt Bill Clinton encouraged his daughter to hang around boys like this while growing up:

There is something that everybody has in common.
When it comes to the welfare of their children, ideology steps aside, and a parent will do what's best for their child regardless what ideology they may subscribe to: feminism, nazism, multi-culturalism, etc...

for example:
-- The leaders of Hamas do not send their children off to fight as suicide bombers.
-- The communist leaders of the USSR didn't hesitate to use their power to make financial gains (like a capitalist) for the benefit of their children
-- Liberals will preach diversity for the rest of us but if they can afford it, they will pay a king's ransom for private schools so their children do NOT have to experience diversity

"Additionally, keeping track of pedigrees is a way of tracking where certain traits come from. America isn't Europe and pedigree isn't as important as money and status. Only two things are important to upper class families: net worth and where they went to school (prep & college). If you pass on those criteria, you are fine. Also, many of the upper class millionaires are new money. There should be a distinction between new money people such as Bill Gates who is well respected and rich and newer money people such as Mark Zuckerberg who obviously would be out of place at the Hamptons.

As for traits of the upper classes, can you be more specific? Do you mean that the upper classes are less likely to have mental illnesses in their blood line or that they are more predisposed to the finer things in life? If it is the latter, then most of that is learned. Newer money people take etiquette classes so they know how to greet people properly and use the right forks at dinner. They also hire stylists so they can decorate their mansion with tasteful art and furniture and dress properly. Newer money may not be able to marry into the Kennedy or Bush clan this generation, but they will in future generations. In America, almost every millionaire family was new money at one point or another.

[HS: "Mark Zuckerberg who obviously would be out of place at the Hamptons" Huh? He's the stereotype of people who hang out at the Hamptons. All you need to buy a big house there is money.]

"I take the quote to mean that he works for a contracting company as a temporary migrant worker and not that he's an independent small businessman. You need to read between the lines."

A very short news article describes the suspect as a contractor. I see no reason why the article would describe him as such if he were a migrant worker.

Connecticut and to some extent Rhode Island already have a good number of immigrants and other minorities. Vibrancy, if you prefer. I'm not sure if Delaware gets many immigrants, but it certainly has a substantial black population - it was a slave state, after all.

"Hey, if the trade off for cheap labor and diversity is ONLY the raping of some rich White women, then the scales are balanced..."

How do you know that the victims of the Nantucket rapes were rich white women?

"As you see, Nantucket didn’t just import cheap labor willing to live in dormitories near the airport, they also imported rapists."

It's the same problem as with pollution. The polluter enjoys an immediate personal benefit while the costs of his conduct are imposed on the general public at some point in the future.

So too with NAM labor. How much money do you save anyway by bringing in Jamaican workers? Probably it's pretty small compared to the damage caused by NAM crime and use of social services.

If only Americans were a tenth as concerned about NAMs as with CO2.

"How do you know that the victims of the Nantucket rapes were rich white women?"

If you were a worthless black thug, isn't that who you would rape?

"Nantucket didn’t just import cheap labor willing to live in dormitories near the airport"

Ironically, this would also describe the thousands of Ivy Leaguers who take non-paying internships every summer in NYC.

How bout Block Island, still safe & white?

"It's the same problem as with pollution. The polluter enjoys an immediate personal benefit while the costs of his conduct are imposed on the general public at some point in the future."

That's a good point.

The underlying evolutionary dynamic here is horizontal transmission yielding the evolution of virulence - in criminals, microbes, memes, genes, etc.

"How bout Block Island, still safe & white?"

Shhhhhhhhhh

"college students have moved away from doing menial labor during the summer": who pays for that change of habit?

Again, from someone who actually lives on Nantucket:

There are 10,000 people living here year-round. Most are middle-class -- they're builders, caretakers, etc. (we do actually have Section 8 housing here, btw). In a population that size statistically speaking you're going to get some knuckleheads. Some of them are black or hispanic. Some are white. They all suck.

This is the problem with blogs like this -- most of the people commenting on Nantucket know absolutely nothing about it.

But why am I even bothering to respond? I doubt that anyone will change their minds; after all, ignorance is bliss, right?

"Some of them are black or hispanic. Some are white. They all suck"

This is basically the "whites commit crimes too" argument. However if you look at the actual statistics, the disparity is shockingly large, particularly the difference between blacks and whites.

And the disparity is probably a lot bigger if you just look at stranger crimes and inter-racial crimes. The ratio of black on white rapes to white on black rapes is like many thousands to one.

"most of the people commenting on Nantucket know absolutely nothing about it. "

I personally know a lot about Nantucket and I don't recall any brutal assaults or home invasions having taken place back in the 1970s. I vaguely recall one drunk driving death in the late 70s and a murder a few years later between 2 people who had some kind of dispute.

But none of the signature black crimes which make people live in fear.

To add to what sabril wrote above, the type of white people who commit crimes are NOT the type of white people who can afford to live in Nantucket.

"For example Bill Clinton is often jokingly referred to as America's first black president because he preached diversity and surrounded himself around blacks like no other politician has or ever will"

Of course, he lives in a rich white suburb and plays golf at Winged Foot. How come he doesn't live in Harlem. Integration for the masses and segration for the rich.
