The West has become less religious during the last century. There’s the exception of a fundamentalist/evangelical Christian revival among U.S. proles, but no one’s paying attention to them. In the major cities of the West, religiosity is at a low ebb.
The opposite is happening in the Muslim world. Religiosity is increasing. This is demonstrated by the photographic evidence posted by blogger Phyllis Chesler.
However, the Western opinion leaders (who are liberals) are blind to this dichotomy. They figure that if religiosity is decreasing in the West, it must also be decreasing everywhere else including the Muslim world. They just don’t get it.
They also imagine a “good” Islam which is like a liberal mainline Protestant church in the West in which people go every Sunday, but no one including the ministers actually believe that the stuff in the Bible is to be taken literally and no one acts especially religious after the services end. They don’t understand that Muslims actually believe that jihad stuff.
I, for one, am not surprised by today’s news story revealing that the revolution in Egypt sucks for the Christians who live there.
