George Zimmerman had a broken nose

Reported by ABC News, Zimmerman's lawyer says that Zimmerman suffered a broken nose.

This looks more like a case of a tall agressive black who was suspended from school beating up a short overweight non-agressive white-collar worker.

The question in my mind is who started it. The person who starts a fight shouldn't be able to claim self defense if they find themselves on the losing end. This may mean that Zimmerman's options at the end were allowing Travon to beat the crap out of him, or shooting Travon and going to jail for murder.

We'll never know exactly what happened. There don't appear to be any independent eyewitnesses to the initial confrontation. Only two people were there, and one of them is now dead.

Carrying a gun can mess with your mind. It can give a fat desk jockey [I resemble that remark!] a false sense of power and invincibility, leading them into confrontations they otherwise would have avoided. Couple that with Zimmerman's "cop wanna be" neighborhood watch activity, and I find it more likely that he started it.

Perhaps this would be a good time to discuss what constitutes "starting it". From my perspective, it's not necessarily about who throws the first punch, or even initiates the first physical contact. Imagine that Zimmerman got in Travon's face and impeded his progress walking down the street. I'd say that Zimmerman "started it", regardless of who actually touched who first.
