I considered going to Williams College, but instead I decided to go to a far superior school. Thank god. I might've ended up an alumnus of Gutman's. My skin crawls at the thought.

OT - today in the gym one of the TVs was running a story about the BART cell phone shutdown last August but I was too far away to read the captioning.

Didn't BART do this to head off an imminent flash mob by some vibrant types? It was going 'round about that time.

I'm searching but all the stories are old.

"And this class of people is really out to get high-prole/lower-middle-class people" - Half Sigma

Red diaper doper babies.

They've also been described as puritan progressive who loath the "wrong sort of whites" such as hillibilly southern whites and ethnic northern whites. Nothing disgusts the elite white more than lower class whites. The frightening thought that he or she could be like them fuels their hatred and vicious intolerance.

"The frightening thought that he or she could be like them fuels their hatred and vicious intolerance."

precisely. the worst battles are those between cousins, because "there but for the grace of god go i..."
the psychological closeness of the prole white is what sustains the SWPL's irrational hatred. the SWPL sees a bit of himself in the prole. this is not to excuse the anti-white bigotry of the elite whites, but it does help explain it.
the civil war is being played out again, this time with black, mestizos and media ink as weapons instead of guns and iron ships. that could change.

Middle class people die in Cessnas. Maybe not new Cessnas, but flying isn't necessarily that expensive. An old used small plane costs about as much as a speedboat. It's probably cheaper than regularly racing cars. It's all about priorities. Go to any small general aviation airport, and you'll many old cars in the parking lot. All their money into the plane. Now, there's no limit to the amount of money you can spend, so the wealthy are also well-represented. But it's not necessarily an elitist hobby.

"And this class of people is really out to get high-prole/lower-middle-class people like George Zimmerman"

But, of course. That's because they think they're better than George because they come from families with more money. I have to agree with them on one thing though -- having money is the best middle finger one can give others.

Why do the upper class elite whites despise the working class whites, who leave them alone, and love blacks, who will mug and murder them?

1. They are better than the mouth-breathers by definition (being superior proves they are elite). And 2. They are even better than that BECAUSE they love blacks, and those people hate blacks.

So the elites have to love blacks in order to prove they are not mouth-breathers. And they have to hate mouth-breathers to reinforce their definition of themselves as elite.

But now something interesting is happening. They have adopted a new pet cause: homosexuality. As they focus on gay marriage, they have a new way to define themselves as better than the mouth-breathers. And it leaves out blacks.

How will the blacks respond? It probably won't make much difference to them. They never really cared how the elite treated them. They'll always find some elite person to manipulate, even if most of the elite energy is going into homosexuality.

Middle class people who are not aviation enthusiasts don't die in crashes involving small planes. http://www.faa.gov/data_research/aviation_data_statistics/civil_airmen_statistics/2009/ There's 211,619 private pilot licenses in the US and less than 600k total pilot licenses.

Jason Steiner: "Middle class people die in Cessnas. Maybe not new Cessnas, but flying isn't necessarily that expensive. An old used small plane costs about as much as a speedboat."

Besides that, shared ownership of an airplane is not a major additional hurdle. It's not like you can park a Cessna in your garage and go for a drive whenever the fancy strikes you, flying is something you have to schedule around anyway, so find another guy with mostly different schedules and cut the costs in half.

Lots of middle class people get expensive toys by sharing the costs with other hobbyists. Of course that puts another layer of class selectivity on the hobby as you need a good bit of mutual trust both in the persons and their finances.

APH: "Middle class people who are not aviation enthusiasts don't die in crashes involving small planes."

But then, upper class people who are not aviation enthusiasts don't die in them either. Pretty much anyone flying a plane is either an aviation enthusiast or a professional (which means not rich).

From the New York Times; Gated communities "an unholy alliance of smugness and insecurity."

Wow that's coming from the chief propaganda arm of SWPL.

"Residents often expressed a fear of crime that was exaggerated beyond the actual criminal threat, as documented by their police department’s statistics."

Yes because people aren't being murdered everyday they should be happy that drug dealing, auto theft, and robberies occur.

"In this us-versus-them mental landscape, them refers to new immigrants, blacks, young people, renters, non-property-owners and people perceived to be poor."

Let's put some section 8 housing in a good neighborhood. It'll draw gang bangers and prostitutes but we'll have "diversity".

"The rise of “secure,” gated communities, private cops, private roads, private parks, private schools, private playgrounds — private, private, private —exacerbates biased treatment against the young, the colored and the presumably poor."

Does this get any more cliche and sanctimonious?

"I get a little bit of schadenfreude out of that"

I know what you mean. I had to reconsider my opinion on brain cancer after Ted got it.

I apologize that this is way, way off-topic and very old news, but I couldnt find it in the archives of this site: http://www.newhavenindependent.org/index.php/archives/entry/clark_says_guilty_to_killing_annie_le/

Apparently it began as a rape -- completely different from the other hypotheses. The "DNA" evidence was a lot stronger than we originally thought, if that gives any hint.

The Gutman character is a poster-child for why the country really needs much higher taxes on the rich than it has now. Not higher income taxes, or some other such manipulation of the tax tables, but taxes on real wealth.

Wealth taxes should start at 50% for all wealth greater than $3 million, including unrealized capital gains, trusts, charitable organizations, and such. None of this faux "progressive taxes" that we see discussed today, where all taxation falls on labor.

Once the Gutmans of the world are brought low, we will not need to suffer them in public like we do.

who is shawn tyson?

we should all become familiar with this story. 16 year old black thug murders two white british tourists in florida. story get a lot of press in europe, but not making headlines in america. obama has not issued a statement.

excellent article from the daily mail (uk):

"upper class people who are not aviation enthusiasts don't die in them either."

Yes they do. Celebrities and executives do die in small plane crashes (maybe not specifically Cessnas as much as other makes, but still) Sure, some of them are fascinated by planes, but a lot of them are in them because they have a lot of $$$.

According to their website Lawrence Downes handles immigration editorials for the NY Times. Have you ever written about him?

We had a little plane crash on our land when I was a kid -- and that was in the country, in the bible belt.

No one died, though.
