Race censorship by the MSM

Hat tip to Lawrence Auster for finding this article by Kyle Rogers in which Rogers presents actual accounts from newspaper insiders about how they intentionally censor race from crime reporting.

People who follow alt-right blogs know that this has been happening based on the mountains of evidence supplied by bloggers such as Auster, but I think this is the first time I have read about the actual process newspapers use to censor these stories.

Also, the MSMS censors know what they are doing. Regular people would have much different views about race, views that the liberal elite don’t want people to have, if they routinely read news reports which include the race of criminal perpetrators.

Yes and I've been evangelizing in my local paper's online comment section about HBD and the alt-right. I get very receptive feedback but I'm comments are quickly deleted.

Conquistador, HBD will get deleted almost every time. We need to start by emphasizing the need for complete information and robust public discussion about a complex issue like race. You can also work in that not being able to discuss race honestly, is a barrier to dealing with cultural/environmental factors like fatherless families and low education priority.

Once THAT groundwork is laid, then HBD can start coming in.

When I stopped following Alt Right it was I would say 90% about Israel and 10% about random weirdness. If what you say is true I guess they've expanded their horizons.

Question: would they mention the race of white youths who "happened to have shaved heads" and who attacked a Jewish guy? A black guy?

Even if you support deporting any diaspora blacks all blacks to Africa, there's no reason to kill the remaining ones in Africa. They're only outside Africa because they were brought outside either as slaves or as relatively recent immigrants. If they weren't imported as immigrants, Africa would have no effect on the outside world.

I used the BBC complaints service to complain about their omission of the race of several youths who stabbed an Argentinian tourists a few months ago.

The report had noted that police were looking for suspects and included age and gender, but omitted race. Other UK tabloids had mentioned race in the police description of the attackers, so I complained on the basis the BBC were not accurately reporting the police description.

I got a response saying that their policy is not to mention race unless clearly relevant to the story.

The MSM censorship extended to the case of your fellow Penn Alum Adam Anhang.

You will recall that Adam was a typical hard working beta male and decided to marry a Puerto Rican. When the marriage ran in to trouble his wife's brothers suggested that she hire someone to kill her husband. She accepted her brothers' advice and Adam was killed.

I worked at a top-25 circulation newspaper from roughly the mid-90s to the middle of the last decade. I was there during a lot of those policy discussions about how race would be cited and referenced in news as well as in feature/entertainment articles.

The mantra was words to the effect of 'only cite race when it's 'germane' to the particular piece, etc., blah-blah.

Problem is, the very fact of what makes race a 'germane' facet of a story is itself vulnerable to contemporary whims, currents and fancies; thus, you'd often find that even in crime stories in which the perpetrator was not yet in custody, race was often omitted in the description, replaced by telling but evasive phrases like 'dark' or 'deeply complected.'
The mid-'90s were a weird time for p.c.; a lot of regrettable pieties were indulged. Part of the problem was that there truly WERE many unnecessarily racist overtones that were unneccessary common in mass medi prior to that time, and a lot of the corrective steps that have now become norms were overly compensatory and heavy-handed.
And readers sometimes blindly accept such norms, however askew, and complain if they don't see them maintained. You may have readers writing to the editor and claiming an article is 'racist' merely because it notes that the at-large suspect in a bank robbery is a black male of a certain height and weight.

Similarly, there are black snipers that randomly targetted a white man in Kansas City, police think they will target other whites, but the media in Kansas city won't publish the race of the perps. Google it the snipers are still at large

• When interviewing representatives of racist organisations or reporting meetings or statements or claims, journalists should carefully check all reports for accuracy and seek rebutting or opposing comments. The anti-social nature of such views should be exposed.

• Do not sensationalise by reports, photographs, film or presentation the activities of racist organisations.

• Seek to publish or broadcast material exposing the myths and lies of racist organisations and their anti-social behaviour.

• Do not allow the letters column or ‘phone-in’ programmes to be used to spread racial hatred in whatever guise."

Until 2011-2012 the NBA's ratings had been on a pretty long and consistent slide since Michael Jordan retired. David Stern's institution of a professional dress code in 2005 was the first acknowledgement that the NBA had a worsening image problem.

However, the league did see a pretty healthy jump in ratings this year, probably due to the marketability of emerging family-friendly YouTube darlings like Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, Jeremy Lin and even small-marketers like Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio or Kyrie Irving.

This newer generation of stars lacks the arrogance (and overdone tattoos) of the LeBron Jameses and Carmelo Anthonys of the league.

According to Wiki, the NBA's ratings have been rising since 2007, not 2011. And even at the "low" point, it was getting ratings as good as MLB. I bet a lot of people here wish the NBA was a failed league, because it confirms their comforting belief that all whites are secretly racist and avoid black entertainment when given a choice.

The NBA owes its resurgence to Mark Zuckerburg, more than anything else. Social media has been huge for the NBA, since it's very easy to view your nightly highlight dunks and blocks in tiny Youtube-size snippets.

But the NBA's appeal is pretty narrow, though. It's a very young and brown/black demographic that makes up the bulk of the viewership.

Take a look at the commercials - it's always very ghettofied low-brow stuff, usually with little jive-talking talking dolls hawking soda, McDonald's or sneakers.
