Wade Page, Sikh shooter, beta-male?

This is alleged to be a photo of Wage M Page, the Sikh shooter.

He does not look the least bit like a “skinhead.” His head isn’t even shaved. He looks to me like like Dwight Schrute, the loser guy from the TV Series The Office.

This may be his Amazon.com wishlist, which includes several computer games, typical of the beta-male.

So I think the shooter is a loser who happened to be into White Power music, and who went into beta-male rage after his girlfriend dumped him. The MSM, however, will only see the Swastika.

If Page had been better looking, then he would have been too busy with his girlfriends—one of whom would have been his wife by now—to have time to get involved with Neo-Nazis.

Also in his wishlist is slutty women’s clothing (for his girlfriend?), some Pixar Cars themed stuff (for his girlfriend’s kid?) and a cheap engagement ring with a “black diamond.” Was he thinking of marrying his girlfriend? Did she refuse him? Is that what triggered the beta-male rage?

You've got to be a real loser to play in a band and not have women interested in you. It doesn't even need to be a famous band at all. A good friend of mine (married forever) is a musician and would always have girls coming on to him when he played in bands. Granted, maybe it's different in "white power" circles, I have no idea.

Given Page's work in military psych ops it's very unlikely that he wouldn't have known the difference between Sikhs and Muslims. I would doubt that the temple was a target of opportunity; he lived 13 miles away, there probably are mosques that are closer.

I would suggest he had a problem controlling emotions like anxiety and rage and used to drink to try to control them (not a good idea in the long term). The band and extremists politics were used to justify and vent his rage against others. He, probably, needed something justifying and channeling his rage against some targets.

Real Nazists have sometimes "warm" relations with Muslims Extremists (they are so similar and have common roots) so he probably knew Sikhs are not Muslims.

If Nazi ideology have something to do with the targets choice, it is probably the economic success of Sikhs the reason of his rage against them and his reason to kill them in their spiritual center.

He, a failed man, vented his rage against a successful community of foreigners striving to conduct an exemplary life. Probably the girlfriend dumping him was the last straw breaking his will to live. He went there to kill and be killed.

Peter's comment above is on-target, and illustrates how looks qua looks aren't as important for men as they are for women. Give this guy a trendier pair of glasses, fashionable clothes, and some confidence, and he'd throw off an entirely different vibe. He'd look like he might be an up-and-coming novelist, or the founder of some tech startup.

This is actually a good image of him. The ones that I have seen of him in the media is cookie cutter white neonazi. I googled some more images of him and a lot of it is very unflattering.

I really really doubt he was ever confused as to Sikhs being muslims. The sign on the temple says, Sikh Temple, and is really unmistaking. He probably just really wanted to kill some brown people and end his life in the process.

Why do you think people are so fascinated by trials involving good looking criminals? It's not suppose to happen. At a gut level we knew they had the good life and they screwed it all up. The truth ain't pretty but crime is for average and ugly people.

To clarify a term I used, I think "beta male rage" is not the most accurate descriptor for what I think is a real phenomenon. Maybe "status setback rage" is more accurate, but it doesn't have the same ring to it.

A guy doesn't have to be a complete loser. But if he suffers a bunch of setbacks in life related to money, career, status, relationships and then goes off the handle and lashes out at people around him, most people will get what you mean when you say "beta male rage".

BTW, who are you guys who that are reading Sig's blog and getting butthurt over a term like "beta male rage"? You chose to speak up NOW?
