Since most readers here aren't sports fans: that feeling you have now, hoping your side is going to win? That's sort of what it's like every Sunday during NFL season.

Also, Real Clear Politics has a nice scorecard setup for tonight's elections: http://realclearpolitics.com/

"CNN's John King gleefully explains how the Hispanic population is growing, and because they vote Democratic, the Republican Party in the future is doomed."

Yes and no, which means maybe. In the future, between 20-50 years hence, there will be the Democratic party, which will be largely colored (which will have a large Asian component too) controlled and headed by a narrow white liberal elite, and the White party, for whites and those who want the country ruled by whites. I anticipate as the Hispanic and Asian populations increase, the Democrats will become even more leftist and anti-white pushing even some of today's SWPLs and certainly their children over to the White party, whatever party that may be at the time. The questions will be whether the White party will gain disaffected SWPLs at a rate faster than the Democrats will enlist new voters through immigration (by this time there will be hardly any limits on immigration), fraud and the natural fecundity of the coloreds. It will be a bloody disaster, but it is always interesting to behold an empire in collapse.

He is assuming all the Hispanics are going to be welfare receiving deadbeats.

Many Hispanics will eventually become financially successful and realize the double standard, just like so many professional women. Eventually they will convert to Republicans like many Asian-Americans.

"The questions will be whether the White party will gain disaffected SWPLs at a rate faster than the Democrats will enlist new voters through immigration"

No further immigration required. The demographic time bomb is already set. It's now a matter of the pig moving through the boa constrictor.

hispanics like asians will not go GOP so long as they keep pandering to the angry redneck crowd. like the jew, they will (some of them) earn like presbyterian and vote like puerto rican.

>>hispanics like asians will not go GOP so long as they keep pandering to the angry redneck crowd.

I guess that if one object to his country being turned into a third world shit hole like Bombay, Port au Prince, Shanghai or Mexico City he is an "angry redneck". Well count me good and red.

When will their be enough immigration for the liberal? When the population is 500 million, 1 billion? When whites have been reduced to 40%, 20%? I would like and answer to that.

@Daniel,

Dems think their own neighborhoods will stay white, and that the overall character of the country won't change when pretty much every neighborhood BUT their own is part of the third world. They think they can make live an unlivable hell for the Wrong Kind of White People without suffering any ill effects themselves.

They're deeply, intractably stupid. Mindless, angry toddlers.

And they're running the country. Until it collapses, anyhow.

Lol @ "gleefully"...really sums up the difference between supposed liberal media bias and conservative media bias...liberal "bias" basically consists in a journalist reporting some matter of fact reality that conservatives refuse to recognize without implicit disapproval..whereas the conservative bias of fox or the post or wsj is all out shameless activism for conservative causes.

@daniel

there are two cities above that actually aren't shitholes. pandering to ignorant hicks like you just drives more donor dollars from rich jews and votes from growing minority demographics that are screwed by democrat policies toward the democrat party.

I-95 closed in both directions near Fort Lee, NJ (where the NJ-side of the George Washington Bridge to Manhattan is) due to emergency utility work. With the Holland Tunnel further south still closed in the wake of Sandy, the commute back to NJ from Manhattan is a disaster. Polls just closed in NJ at 8. Lots of NJ commuters didn't get back in time to vote.

There is nothing that the White party can do to please liberal Jews, so why bother trying. If they pleased liberal Jews they would not be the White party. Most Jews will remain with the Democrats. Same with Asians and Hispanics. The White party should mine the land that they know will produce.

I don't think Hispanics or Asians will ever vote for the Republican party in great numbers.

As for the idea of Republicans getting a higher and higher share of the white vote as time goes on: there are limits. The Republicans turn off single white women, young people in urban centers, liberal Jews, etc. with their socially conservative policies. There is only so many whites that they can win while still remaining true to their current Republican principles.

In two generations the liberal (that is, non-Orthodox, non-practicing, Reform and Reconstructionist) Jews will have died off and won't have left any Jewish descendents.

The Jewish population will be smaller and dominated by Orthodox Jews, who have a huge birthrate.

"The White party should mine the land that they know will produce."

True, but that cow has already left the barn. Barring some violent expulsionist policy you are not going to get rid of the Jews or the nonwhites.

Obama like every other dem lost the white vote 55-45 last time but we no longer live in a country where the white vote determines the president. The far right of the party pulls the platform so far off center that they are just accelerating their status as the permanent minority party.

@ Kurtosis

Asian American here - I'll vote any party that ends all affirmative action and quotas, especially in higher education. However, I am loath to vote for a party that starts foreign wars (we can't afford it) or denies climate change (I don't think we can afford this either).

BTW, I dream of starting a reinsurance company that sells equity to climate deniers and then offer cheap reinsurance to companies wishing to sell affordable flood insurance. Let these climate deniers put their money where their mouth is, so to speak!

So far, the big winner tonight is pollsters. People had been saying that polls don't collect the right samples because of cellphones, minorities, young voters, whatever. But so far, zero surprizes versus most recent expectations.

Personally, I think people who think they can control the climate are giving human beings a heck of a lot more power than we actually have.

@Johnson: Re: climate change, one should listen to those who have money on the line - Google for "climate change reinsurance".

I wonder whether the quality of the presidential election would actually change if we lost the ridiculous electoral college system in voting for president. Right now we have candidates who spend no time in Texas, California, New York, the South and so on, but cover New Hampshire, Ohio and Florida like paint. Having to win over a majority, regardless of where they are would favor groups that actually vote and pay attention rather than the zip code data mining campaigning you see these days.

FL is very tight.

I have a feeling I was wrong and that Obama will be re-elected.

I was wrong. There is no other way to put it. I was wrong. The Democrats have managed to put together a winning coalition of liberal whites, unmarried whites, blacks, browns, gays and lesbians. Four more years of Obama, of illegal aliens, of affirmative action, of whites losing.

HalfSigma,

If you paid any attention to Nate Silver/FiveThirtyEight, you would have known Romney never had a chance, even after Obama's disasterous 1st debate, he was still way ahead of Romney.

Not sure why you were so enthusiastic about Romney's chances.

You should've seen this coming, especially for someone who fancies himself a statistician. Take comfort in the fact that you had no business supporting Romney in the first place, if one is to take your blogger philosophy at face-value.

HS, bring to mind a pro-Obama friend that you respect and try and let their optimism be big enough for both of you. That's pretty much what I do in these cases. Although, it's not over yet (is it?).

@ leptokurtic: Sometimes there is money to be had just by convincing a majority of a thing.

We all choose what information to buy into for things we have not or cannot investigate on our own. I don't pretend to have conducted studies on global warming, but I know most people with an opinion haven't either.

Enjoying the play by play here tonight. Since it's voting night...Drole Prole is my favorite poster.

I don't know why anybody is surprised at an Obama win. Intrade and Paddy Powers had him winning big just last night. Money talks, bullshit.....

In hindsight, assuming Romney loses, he should have boldly vowed to create 20 or 30 million new, high-paying jobs instead of the small-potatoes 12 million.

@Johnson - "Sometimes there is money to be had just by convincing a majority of a thing." which is exactly why you shouldn't trust those people. The insurance company has an interest in getting the numbers right, not to convince anyone of anything. If they overcharge, then a smarter company with a more accurate model will take away their customers. If they charge too little, they will go bankrupt.

@leptokurtic - Point taken.

I agree climate changes occur, however I don't believe that it's within our power to affect the climate to the degree global warming supporters do.

The one thing the MSM is ignoring this time around is how this is basically the opposite of the '92 election: it's not the economy, stupid.

--there are two cities above that actually aren't shitholes--

Which 2?

Can there be any dissension that the Republicans deserve the moniker of Stupid Party?

How did they manage to do THIS badly?
Give back two Senate seats with 13 fewer of their own in play?

Political atheists aren't voting for any candidates from the 2 aforementioned parties because of this:

Demobrats = A party of welfare NAMs and misguided SWPLs

Reprolelicons = A party of wealthy Proles and aspiring ones

Mitt Romney is basically Jetfire in Transformers, a SWPL turncoat who mistakenly joins the prole faction.
